The Course
The wild winding trail draws me
Into a different reality,
First gentle swaying spacious trees
Thickening to dark dense canopies.
Opening to a bright broad scar
A Giant’s footstep, flat and far,
Treading not man’s villainous stance
But leading toward a stone expanse.
I see the granite mountain face
Filling the height and width of space
With a call to follow the course
Through jungled plants to their source.
Where upon the glassy lake runs cold,
With a sense that stills my soul,
That Another far greater than man
Created this world in which I stand.

Beautiful and majestic imagery creatively expressed.
